Kavach is a real-time, cloud based, wearable health monitoring platform.
One of the biggest challenge both developing and developed countries face is to provide proper health care facilities to its senior citizens. After the age of retirement they lack a proper source of income and many a times are dependent upon their offspring to look after them. India had been a culturally rich society where concept of joint family was prominent and that kept the elders live a healthy and happy post retirement life. But things have changed dramatically in last few decades. In almost all the countries senior citizens now face depression and health issues and many of them succumb to death after months and years of suffering and misery due to lack of these timely attention.
The idea of Kavach comes from this very problem. We conceptualized a Tshirt that would measure bodily functions such as body temperature, pulse rate, acceleration and GPS location. It then stores this data to cloud where it can be processed and artificial intelligence algorithms can be applied to identify potential diseases in advance.
After the prototype was developed, we then conceptulaized the platform as a health style which we have illustrated in the video.
We represented India at Health2.0 Developers World Cup 2012 at San Francisco where we showcased the working prototype of Kavach. The project was much appreciated and it bagged 2nd prize competing against teams from rest of the world.
