Working in association with DLPMCS and Government we have launched following initiatives:
1. E-Arogyam
e-Arogyam, a technology based health initiative, seeks to resolve mother and child health concerns in rural parts of India by bridging the communication gap. Harnessing mobile penetration in rural areas to leverage health service delivery, e-Arogyam sends out SMSes to all registered beneficiaries with vital information about immunisation and crucial care information. The potential of the approach can be gauged by the success of the launch. Launched in over 170 villages in Jhansi district, e-Arogyam now keeps over 10,000 beneficiaries informed on a regular basis. The ubiquitous mobile phone has quite literally become the messenger of health.
Further, e-Arogyam uses smart visualisation techniques and Geo-Analytics are used to generate user-friendly data on fallout trends and overdue services. The organised and visualised data supplies the govt with much needed information to plug the holes in service delivery for entire Jhansi District covering 700 villages.
2. Specialty health camp was organized with Gynecologist, Pediatrician, Ophthalmologist, Orthopedic, Physician consultation. Lab tests and around 360 OPDs were done and free medicines were distributed.
3. Distributed Diagnostic instruments like automated BP meter and digital thermometer in 7 gram panchayats and trained ASHA workers for the same. Around 300 measurements were done in the first 5 days itself.
4. Organized ANC (Ante-natal care) street meetings in 12 villages. Reached over 1000 people with a model for continuous intervention.
Wish a Change Foundation was founded in June 2013 by three of us (Jatin Sharma, Rolly Seth, Tushar Chugh) with a vision to improve the condition of health-care and education in the country by using technology to remove the barriers. Prof. Rahul Mangharam from University of Pennsylvania is serving on the board of advisors.
